MP3 File Management

Familiar to most Windows users is the Cut/Copy/Paste functionality otherwise known as the Clipboard system. Dreamsoft MP3 Manager includes this functionality for simplifying your interface with the program.

Just drag the files from the Playlist view with the right mouse button and drop them onto any folder in the folders tree. You will then see a menu asking if you want to copy the files, move the files, or cancel the transaction. The same method can be used to send files to another application (e.g.: Adding songs to Winamp playlist). Dragging files with left mouse button will move songs position to the one you desire.

Another way to copy/move your files can be found in the Shell menu. Select the files from the Files/Playlist view to copy, then choose Shell then "Copy to..." or "Move to...". You will then be asked for the folder to copy/move the files to.

Still another way is to use the Copy/Cut/Paste menu available by right-clicking and cut and paste files to and from.
This functionality works from both the files view as well as the playlist view. You can also use context menus to copy/move files from the built-in Search system.

Now you can copy or move (or even delete) the songs from a playlist whose songs are scattered around your drive into a folder with a drag and a click? How about copying all songs on your local drives written in the 1960's into your Oldies folder? Now that's where MP3 Manager comes in.

You should see your files moved over to the new folder almost instantly.

Another quick way to copy/move files around is to drag them from the Playlist up to the Folder/Files pane. The playlist entries will be updated accordingly, so your playlist remains intact and functional. You can also drag files to another application (e.g. Winamp)
